Beaufort Care Groups aim is to provide children and young people with support, encouragement and new life experiences, through our commitment to changing and improving their lives we create safe and nurturing environments, where positive relationships can be built, growing their resilience and confidence to achieve their personal best.

Today Beaufort Care Group has 8 residential homes across Bournemouth and Dorset caring for young people aged 8-18 years old with complex emotional and behavioural needs. All the homes are in quiet residential areas.

We have eight residential homes for children and young people aged 8-18 in Dorset, as well as supported living accommodation for young adults. The homes are all situated in quiet residential areas – giving young people a tranquil space to grow, develop and heal.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve written for all kinds of healthcare professionals and organisations – including Health Education England, medical diagnostics companies, clinical trials teams and the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR).

Alongside my work as a healthcare copywriter, I’m also involved in PPI (public patient involvement) research and I’ve helped with communications on numerous NHS, NIHR and NICE studies.

I have particular expertise in writing content for patient groups – and I’ve worked with numerous healthcare organisations on recruitment materials for clinical trials, research studies and surveys.

For example, I’ve written website content for a major UK acne research study, commissioned by NICE to assess the effectiveness of spironolactone to treat acne. 

I also advised the clinical trials team on how to use social media effectively to find patient volunteers. The subsequent social media campaign has won many accolades in the healthcare sector.

How to turn boring topics into eye-catching content

National Institute for Healthcare Research

I designed and delivered a two-hour training session on social media marketing for the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR). This focused on how to use social media to encourage greater public involvement in healthcare research, particularly Facebook and Instagram. I advised on how Instagram Reels, Stories and video could be used to generate more interest amongst potential clinical trials volunteers.

I produced the main landing page content for Salisbury Hospice Charity’s new website. This included creating an information hub on the hospice for patients and their families – with details about palliative care, therapies, accommodation and hospice-at-home service.

The content needed to explain the hospice’s services in an empathetic and reassuring way for patients and their families.

I’ve produced all the copy for Beaufort Care Group’s (BCG) new website. BCG provides high-quality residential care for children and young people with complex needs.

I worked closely with the team to ensure that the content reflected the unique strengths and selling points of each of their eight residential homes and supported accommodation across the south of England.

The eIntegrity website

eIntegrity (Health Education England)

I spent eight years working with eIntegrity/Health Education England to promote NHS e-learning around the world. The profits from licence sales are reinvested in the NHS. When I started working with eIntegrity, NHS e-learning was only being licensed to a few countries. Now, it’s used in more than 100 countries…thanks in part to the marketing work.

As a healthcare copywriter for eIntegrity, I developed the website from scratch and managed major email marketing campaigns and content marketing. My articles have been republished by the NHS and also by the Royal College of Anaesthetists, helping to bring eIntegrity to a wider audience. 

I was also instrumental in getting eIntegrity’s social media marketing off the ground.
